FAQs
Wedding Photography FAQ – Everything You Might Want to Know
1. How would you describe your photography style?
Natural, timeless, & storytelling. I focus on real emotions and genuine moments - the laughter, the tears, and everything in between. My approach blends documentary photography with gentle guidance when needed, so your photos feel effortless, not staged, my reviews often mention how easily I blend in with your wedding guests.
2. Why should we choose you as our photographer?
Because I truly care about your experience as much as your photos. I bring years of experience, a calm and friendly presence, as well as an eye for those fleeting moments you’ll want to remember forever. My goal isn’t just to take photos - it’s to tell your story, beautifully and honestly. I've lots of Reviews across various platforms such as Google & Facebook so you can be assured you're in safe hands.
This is also my full-time career, so every client’s experience with me is deeply important - from the first message to the final delivery, I put my heart into making sure you feel valued, understood, and completely at ease, because your trust allows me to do what I love every single day: capture honest, meaningful moments that will stay with you for a lifetime.
3. Do you travel for weddings?
Absolutely. I photograph weddings all across the UK and beyond. I’m based in the North West of Wales & England, but I love combining travel with my passion for capturing stories - especially in beautiful natural settings. I often travel in my camper van which enables me to attend every wedding, anywhere, anytime without accommodation worries or wondering if I will be there on time in the morning - 99% of the time I am at your venue the night before!
4. What’s included in your wedding packages?
I offer a couple of carefully designed packages that cover everything from morning prep to evening celebrations, plus I can tailor quotes to suit your day perfectly. Every couple is unique, so I make sure what you book genuinely fits your plans.
5. How far in advance should we book you?
Once you have your date and venue confirmed, it’s best to get in touch as soon as possible. Popular dates can book up a year or two in advance, especially during summer.
6. Do you offer engagement or pre-wedding shoots?
Yes and I highly recommend them! They are a great way for us to get to know each other & for me to understand you both as a couple, also they’re a relaxed way to get comfortable in front of the camera and capture some beautiful, natural photos before the big day. My full day wedding bookings include pre-wedding shoots for free, as standard.
7. How long until we receive our photos?
I know how exciting it is to relive your day, so I always send a few preview highlights within a day or two - I also offer same day previews (late evening of your wedding day) for a small extra charge. Your full gallery is usually ready within 5–8 weeks, depending on the season, time of year & photography workload. I also offer top priority editing as an optional extra to receive them even faster, usually in about 7-8 days, the extra charge covers me dropping all other work & bookings for the week following your wedding day, clearing my diary to work solely on your wedding images for 12 hours a day in complete focus - top priority editing needs to be booked in when you book me as your wedding photographer to make sure I can free up my diary for the week after your wedding day.
8. How do we receive our photos?
You’ll get a beautiful private online gallery to view, download, and share your images easily. Many couples also choose to add a handcrafted photo album or fine art framed prints to their bookings following delivery of the images - all available in my online store in your wedding gallery. My customers also get 20% off any printed products for 2 weeks following delivery of their photos as a thank you for booking me.
9. Can we meet before booking?
Of course - I actually encourage it. Whether in person or over video chat, it’s a chance to chat through your plans, get to know each other, and make sure we’re the perfect fit.
10. What happens if it rains?
Some of my favourite photos have been taken in the rain! I always come prepared and work with the weather creatively - soft light, umbrellas, reflections - it all adds to the story.
11. Do you offer tailored quotes?
Yes. While I have set packages, I completely understand that every wedding is different. Once I know your plans, timings, and vision, I can create something that fits you perfectly. I offer everything from small intimate wedding packages, up to ultra high end luxury packages for my clients who want absolutely everything from their wedding photographer - quotes are available for you, so please get in touch.
12. Are you insured?
Yes, fully insured for both public liability and professional indemnity - so you can relax knowing everything’s covered.
13. How do we book you?
Just get in touch to check your date, and once you’re ready to go ahead, I’ll send over a contract & booking form. The booking fee secures your date, and the rest is due whenever you wish to pay upto 31 days before the wedding date - however most couples choose to pay using my interest free split payment option, which as an example can be as low as £37.50 a month (wedding package dependant)
14. Do you photograph elopements or smaller weddings?
Definitely. Some of the most meaningful stories I’ve captured have been intimate celebrations. Whether it’s two people on a mountain or a handful of family in a garden - I’d love to be part of it - get in touch for a quote.
15. Do you have a drone?
Yes! I love capturing shots from the air - it’s such a beautiful way to tell the story of where you got married and gives me the freedom to create unique perspectives that simply wouldn’t be possible from the ground.
16. Do you work alone or with a second photographer?
Most of the time I photograph weddings solo, which allows me to stay discreet and blend into your day, it's something I have done with no problem for over 20 years. However, for very large weddings or where you’d like another photographer for reasons suited to your day, I can bring along a trusted second photographer I regularly work with.
17. How do you help couples feel relaxed in front of the camera?
I know not everyone loves being photographed, so I keep things calm, natural, and fun. I’ll gently guide you when needed but mostly let moments unfold naturally - it’s all about capturing your genuine connection rather than forced poses, so you never have to worry about how you will look on camera - I will take care of everything.
18. Can you photograph our evening celebrations too?
Absolutely! The energy and atmosphere of the evening are such an amazing part of your story. From first dances and sparkler shots to the wild dance floor moments, I’m there to capture it all - my full day package covers your evening celebrations without issue!
19. What happens if you’re ill or unable to attend our wedding?
It’s never happened, but I take it very seriously. I’m part of a strong network of professional photographers who cover for one another in emergencies, so you’d still have someone experienced and reliable there on your day - and I’d personally handle all editing afterwards in my signature style. One of my main strengths is planning ahead & being ultra reliable for my clients, even going as far as being at your wedding venue READY, the night before, to stop any concerns about traffic or vehicles breaking down - I always go the extra mile for my clients.
20. Can we order albums or prints after the wedding?
Yes, of course. You can order albums, prints, or wall art anytime through your private online gallery. I work with high-quality UK suppliers to ensure everything looks and feels beautiful - the perfect way to bring your memories to life.
21. Do you recommend Wedding Insurance?
Absolutely - I always recommend getting wedding insurance. While it’s something no one ever wants to think about, it can make all the difference if the unexpected happens. Over the years, I’ve seen a few situations where venues have unfortunately gone under, or suppliers have had accidents or emergencies completely out of their control. Having insurance in place gives you peace of mind that you’re protected, no matter what. It’s a small investment for a huge sense of security, and it means you can relax and fully enjoy your day knowing you’re covered.
